What happens next?
Reiki is a non-invasive complementary therapy and is carried out whilst you are in your normal everyday clothing as the Reiki energy is able to pass through all materials.
Sessions take place whilst you are lying (fully clothed) on a professional treatment couch, or sitting, in a comfortable and relaxing environment. I work using a Reiki couch whenever possible, as it allows you to fully relax, however if this is not possible for you to comfortably do then sitting can be just as acceptable during treatment.
Once you are comfortable I will then lay my hands gently on or over the head and body and let the Reiki energy begin to flow. At all times I ensure that clients are completely relaxed and comfortable with the situation and the treatment and before commencing I will always discuss with you how you would be most comfortable as a individual.
During Reiki treatment you may experience the energy as mild tingling, warmth, coolness, pulsing or other sensations or sometimes nothing at all (although most clients are quite surprised by the amount of feelings the pick up on during a treatment) and this is simply the client sensing the 'ki' (energy).

When the treatment is finished you will be is given a glass of water (this helps with grounding after your treatment) and time to wake up fully before leaving. Although not all clients actually fall asleep during a treatment (although many a client does!) it is still wise to allow some time to come to full conciousness before making your way home.
At the close of a session I will also record any sensation etc that you have felt during your treatment and also my notes on the session. These notes are kept securely under lock and key and are used to build up a complete picutre of your treatment schedule and progress made.
Many clients feel immediately rejuvinated by a Reiki treatment but some can feel very tired that night and then refreshed the next morning. Each Reiki treatment varies as the body absorbs exactly what it needs at that point in time.
Note: In case of illness or disease I must always stress that you should seek the advice of a qualified GP / Doctor. Reiki is a complementary therapy and is not intended as an alternative to conventional medicine.
